HONOUR KILLING- A shame for India

The number of love marriages might have increased in India's cities but the reality remains different !!!
Just a couple of days back I was reading about an incident where a village girl was burnt alive by her neighbours because she had a relationship with a boy from a different caste. In another case, a boy’s hands and legs were chopped off by the residents for marrying a girl from their village. These are just two examples from a bagful of many more cases that occur every day.
Honour killing, where men or women are killed by their kin or other members of their caste, is still very rampant in many parts of India. But the question is: why this heinous crime is committed?
It is very unfortunate that the caste system in India has turned into a social evil for many. I wonder how many young people have lost their lives in the name of honour. And there are many more who are at the gunpoint of this rigid belief system. It is a false notion that honour killing only involves the killing of women. Men are equally victims of this practice, especially when it affects the reputation of a particular caste and community. Many grooms have been killed by the father or the brother of the bride.
There is a strong need for government intervention. The government needs to enforce strict measures to stop honour killings. There should be a ban on all decisions made by these self appointed courts.  India is world’s largest democracy and in a country where people have the right to voice their opinions freely, to be young and to marry the person of your choice shouldn’t be fatal anymore.

LOVE AND JUST LET THE MAGIC FLOW...!!:)

LOVE....a very small word....yet very powerful...!! Their is nobody who has not been struck by 'CUPID's ARROW' At some or the other stage of his life, every person has experienced this beautiful feeling...I have also experienced the magic of love:). Love does not know age, color, language, culture...'love only knows to love'. Love can find you anytime...anywhere...you just have to catch hold of it and never let it go!! To let your love grow....friendship is very necessary.
So...can anyone define LOVE??
Well...i can't!! For me, love is to feel and express beyond words. According to me 'love is not when you can die for that someone special...for me love is when you want to grow old with that person'.
Never hide your love for someone...go and tell that person that what you feel for him. No matter what his answer will be...just express what's in your heart.
Trust me...it's b'ful to fall in love. When you are in love...world around you seems worth loving....you start liking red color...the poet in you comes out...their's always a big smile on you face...you become more b'ful as a person when you are in love:)
Never give up...have faith in yourself and your love...one day you'll find your true love.
I truely believe in these b'ful lines from a song....
"Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is"

In the end...i would just say...don't waste your life in stupid things...go and fall in love with someone....experience the most b'ful gift of god....'Life will not give you a Second Chance'

CHILD LABOUR

From many years, India is suffering with the problem of 'CHILD LABOUR'. Child Labour is a serious offence. their are many instances which we hear on television. For example- a 10 years old girl used to carry heavy bricks on her head, small children working in roadside dhabas and factories. Children themselves do these hazardous things for the requirements of their parents.
Many people in our Indian Society steal their dreams, imagination, ambitions etc. We can stop child labour in India with our mere efforts.
Firstly, improve the educational system of Indian Society. Create awareness in villages. We should remove the social discrimination. We should provide job oriented education. Concerned authorities should take speedy actions to eradicate this social evil from the society.

GIRL CHILD- Are We Equal???

The GIRL CHILD issue has emerged as an important priority in the present world due to the high degree of discrimination by the society. Son preference is curtailing the access of girl child to food, education and health care.  The hardest profession to take in life is being a girl child. Discrimination and discrepancy are two most important factors that hamper the journey of every female from the earliest stage of life. Starting from her presence into her mother’s womb to infancy, childhood and finally to adulthood, she is outnumbered by the male dominating society of the country.

Vital Statistics
  • Of the more than 110 million children not in school, approximately 60 per cent are girls.
  • By age 18, girls have received an average of 4.4 years lesseducation than boys.
  • World-wide of the more than 130 million primary school age children not enrolled in school, nearly 60% are girls.
  • In some countries in sub-Saharan Africa, adolescent girls have HIV rates up to five times higher than adolescent boys.
  • Pregnancies and childbirth-related health problems take the lives of nearly 146,000 teenage girls each year.
  • In sub-Saharan Africa, a woman faces a 1 in 13 chance of dying in childbirth. In Western Europe, the risk is 1 in 3,200.
  • At least one in three girls and women worldwide has been beaten or sexually abused in her lifetime.
  • An estimated 450 million adult women in developing countries are stunted, a direct result of malnutrition in early life.

EVE TEASING- FIGHT BACK...!!

Eve teasing is a menace that has grown to alarming proportions. Not many cities in India are considered safe for women. Though, we are one of the fastest growing countries in world but we have yet to ensure the safety of working women and students. Eve teasing is a huge issue in many metropolitan cities of India. It depicts incidents of public sexual harassment, street harassment or molestation of women by men. Eve teasing also involves sexually suggestive remarks, groping, making lewd gestures and perverted teasing. These disturbing incidents usually take place in public transport, streets, offices and public places. School girls, college going students, working women etc regularly go through humiliating comments by the unruly men. Eve teasing can leave a permanent psychological scar on women.
What should women do? Should they speak up or remain quite?
It's time to 'FIGHT BACK'. Large numbers of females in metropolitan cities are carrying deterrents to protect themselves. Many have resorted to carrying pins, pen-knives and even pepper sprays as their saftey tools. Others have taken self-defense classes and don't hesitate before landing a karate chop on the offender's shoulder blade. This doesn't mean you have to knock down your offender badly, But being too shy and reserved to speak up is just going to work against you. You've got to look your offender in the face and speak up as loud as you can. The crowd will automatically be on your side and then all you have to do is watch and enjoy what people do with him....!!!
So in the end i would just say....be street smart...always very attentive while walking/travelling alone..call for help by shouting as loud as you can. All the very best for dealing with such men and such situations. Don't get afraid and stop living your life your way...rather fight back and enjoy being a WOMAN:))

LOVE THE WAY YOU ARE....:))

Do I love myself??? A question that everybody should ask to their inner self. We always wait for other people to love us. We spend so much of our precious time waiting to be loved...hoping love will find us...feeling empty and lost!! Instead of waiting for someone special to love us....why don't we start loving ourselves...and stay happy!! You must love yourself before you love someone else...by being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy. Remember...the most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.
Don't pay too much attention to your flaws....instead love the best things in you! Nobody is born perfect....everybody has some or the other minus point...but that shouldn't stop you from loving yourself! Well....i think god has gifted each and everyone of us with something unique that nobody else has! We just need to identify that unique quality in us....and adore ourself for that!
The best ways to love yourself is....pamper yourself....buy gifts for yourself, make new friends, give your hobbies some time from your busy schedule....enjoy your life to the fullest! To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give heaven. Don't wait until you die. If you wait, you die now. If you love, you live now.
In the end I would say....the day you start loving yourself....others will also fall in love with you:)
